EPS at AAR/SBL: Christian Philosophical Theology and the Church

December 1, 2020
Virtual Meeting via AAR/SBL Registration

1:45 - 3:15 PM (EST)

Christian Philosophical Theology and the Church

Davis and Yang's forthcoming An Introduction to Christian Philosophical Theology: Faith Seeking Understanding provides an accessible resource for seminary students, college students, pastors, and other church leaders that presents the work of philosophical theologians on topics such as revelation, the Trinity, the incarnation, atonement, resurrection, heaven and hell, etc. The hope is to show that Christian philosophers have much to contribute in the discussion of these theological topics. Davis and Yang will present significant moments in the history of the discipline of philosophical theology as well as offer suggestions and aspirations for future inquiry. Dialogue with Christian scholars in other disciplines follows to discuss the relevance and value of such intellectual pursuits for non-academic Christians in the church.
